Function "Submission"
This function is used to enter grades or results (passed/not passed) of performance assessments and to submit them directly to the responsible Study Administration Offices
Submission of grades / results:
- If results for some or all students of an examination subject are entered by the Study Administration Offices, the corresponding students are not (or no longer) displayed here.
- Lists of "Communication/Lists > Performance assessments - Registrations & results": the results are displayed as soon as they have been decreed by the responsible Study Administration Offices.
- In the case of semester performances, students are only listed once the results have been decreed, as there is no actual examination registration (see below).
Partial submission
Any number of partial grade lists can be created for each examination subject. The only condition is that a list of grades must contain at least one grade.
Types of performance assessments
There are four types of performance assessments: session examinations (sess. exam), end-of-semester examinations (eof. exam) and graded or ungraded semester performances (graded SP, ungraded SP).
For session or end-of-semester examinations only students who have explicitly registered for the exam are shown in the grades list. For semester performances all students who have registered for the course are shown. See below for more details.
Deadlines
The grades for session and end-of-semester examinations have to be submitted within a fixed period of time. These dates are determined and communicated directly by the Study Administration Offices. This is why these performance assessments are shown in eDoz only for a limit period of time.
The deadline for results for subjects discussed in the grading conference is set by the Study Administration Offices. You will be directly informed about these deadlines.
From a technical point of view, grades can be delivered via eDoz until the third week of the following semester. Please check with the responsible Study Administration Offices if you are can only deliver grades after this date (e.g. for repetitions of end-of-semester examinations).
For semester performances there are technically no time limitations for submission of results. However, these results should be reported as soon as possible.
Session and end-of-semester examinations: students registered for an examination
Students must register in myStudies for Session and end-of-semester examinations.
The lists of students are identical to the actual examination registrations. Please contact the if examinees are missing on a list: it will not be possible to enter grades without an examination registration, not even by the Study Administration Offices.
The list of enrolments ("Communication/Lists > Course units") and the list of results (students registered for the exam) do not necessarily have to be identical.
Semester performances: performance assessment without registrations
There is no central registration for semester performances.
The lists shown here (grades or passed/not passed) correspond to the list of enrolments ("Communication/Lists > Course units") for that semester. Please note that you should only deliver results for students who really joined a performance assessment. Hence there may be remaining students with no results on these lists.
Meaning of the flag "Failed due to abandonment or because did not appear for the performance review"
If you mark students on your grade/result list with this flag, the Study Administration Offices will have to decree a failed examination attempt.
Please note:
Students may enrol for course units without having to take the performance assessments. For end-of-semester examinations as well as for session examinations, students must register for the performance assessment via myStudies. On the other hand, there is no such registration for semester performances. Please be aware, if you register for a course unit, you are not automatically registered for its course unit! These are two separate registration processes.
Therefore, "Cancelled / did not appear" may only be issued for semester performances in cases where:
- the performance assessment has been started and then dropped
- students had to register with you and have neither deregistered by the deregistration deadline you announced nor appeared for the performance assessment.
If this flag is set at least once in the list of grades/results, it will be indicated with a highlighted text when saving the data. If the flag "Failed ..." is set without justification, a formal grade correction must be made.
There are subjects that run over several semesters or take place between semesters (e.g. Master's thesis, project work). Hence, there are enrolments in two different semesters. In these cases, provide the grade or result in the semester that most closely corresponds to the time of submission of the paper/thesis. The grades/results in the other semesters remain open.
Special case: students who repeat in the same semester
If you allow repetition in the same semester - i.e. without having to re-book the course unit - the following rules apply with regard to the submission of grades/results:
Session examination: in general not permitted, unless special permission has been granted by the prorector. The result of such a repetition cannot be delivered via eDoz. Please consult with the responsible Study Administration Office.
End-of-semester examination: students must re-enrol for the repetition of the examination. This is possible as soon as the result of the failed examination has been issued by the Study Administration Office. The grades for such a repetition are submitted via eDoz. This is possible within the normal deadline - i.e. until approximately 3 weeks after the start of the new semester. Please contact the responsible Study Administration Office if the grades will be submitted later.
Display of results and credit points in myStudies
Students will see their results and credit points as soon as their results are decreed by the responsible Study Administration Office. The students will be notified by e-mail.
