Select lecturer/supervisor
For supervised courses (e.g. semester projects/papers, Bachelor's or Master's theses), students resp. doctoral students must specify the responsible supervisor when registering for the course.
It is important that the right person is chosen so that the supervisor can communicate with students resp. doctoral students. This person is also listed in the Diploma Supplement, if this exists in the degree programme or programme.
The search for lecturers is possible by last name, first name and/or by selecting a department. After entering the search criteria, the search is started by clicking on the “Search” button.
The persons found are then listed.
The supervisor is selected by ticking the checkbox next to the last name. The selection is then saved by clicking on the “Save person” button.
The name of the supervisor is then displayed under “Lecturers” in the corresponding course unit.
If a list of supervisors exists for the course unit, it is not possible to search for people. The list of possible supervisors is displayed directly.
The supervisor is selected by ticking the checkbox next to the last name. The selection is then saved by clicking on the “Save person” button.
The name of the supervisor is then displayed under “Lecturers” in the corresponding course unit.
In the search result, lecturers are listed only if they have been assigned to a valid teaching period in the system.
If a supervisor cannot be found, this may be due to the lecturer's rank, a restriction on the selection of persons, an invalid teaching period or an external person from another university.
Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in particular are subject to restrictions as to choice of supervisor.
If the desired lecturer cannot be selected, the Study Administration Office must be contacted.
